Here are the results for August 15th episode of WWE SmackDown.
Solo Sikoa comes to the ring with Tonga Loa, Talla Tonga, and JC Mateo. He says they run SmackDown and if anyone has a problem, too bad. He reminds everyone that Sami Zayn, Jimmy Uso, and Jacob Fatu all got stomped out last week.
Sami Zayn’s music hits and he heads to the ring. He tells them to relax because he just wants to talk. Solo lets him in the ring.
Sami says he used to put all the pressure on himself to be World Champion, and after losing to Rusev, he actually feels free. He thanks Solo for that because now he can focus on other goals. There’s one title he’s never held—the United States Championship.
Solo tells him he’ll never get that belt, because Sami belongs on Raw and has no place on SmackDown. Sami smiles and says that’s the real reason he came out—he’s now officially part of SmackDown. Sami tells Solo he took something from him, so now he’s coming for Solo’s title. He throws the first punch at Solo, but Mateo and Loa jump him. Solo lands shots too, and Talla joins the beatdown.
Jimmy Uso’s music hits and he rushes the ring, taking out Loa and Mateo with punches. Talla drops Jimmy with a forearm, while Mateo keeps stomping Sami. Talla lines up for a chokeslam, but everything changes when Jacob Fatu’s music hits.
Nick Aldis comes out and tells Solo this isn’t how you welcome SmackDown’s newest member. He makes the main event official: Sami Zayn, Jimmy Uso, and Jacob Fatu vs. three members of Solo’s squad.
Backstage, Byron is with Chelsea Green, Alba Fyre, and Piper Niven. He asks about Piper’s match with Alexa Bliss and how it all started.
Chelsea says it began when she bravely took a funfetti cake to the face during a silly birthday party. Piper calls it disgusting and says no one messes with their Canadian hero and gets away with it. Alba adds that they’ll shut down anyone who tries to mess with Chelsea.
Alexa Bliss vs. Piper Niven
Alexa Bliss gets the crowd to cheer for Lilly, but the distraction gives Piper Niven an opening to attack from behind. Piper hammers away with forearms, but Alexa fires back with some of her own. Piper lands a hard chop and orders Chelsea and Alba to grab Lilly, but Charlotte Flair runs out to stop them.
Piper counters with a headbutt that drops Alexa into the corner. Piper crushes her with a cannonball, then climbs up for a Vader Bomb, but Alexa rolls away. Alexa hits a DDT, goes to the top, and sets up for Twisted Bliss—only for Chelsea Green to jump on the apron. Charlotte Flair pulls Green down, stopping the distraction. Alba Fyre gets on the apron, but Alexa knocks her off with a punch. Piper misses a corner splash, and Alexa rolls her up for the three count.
Winner: Alexa Bliss
After the bell, Alba jumps Alexa, but Flair lays out Alba, Piper, and Green with chops. Piper recovers with a shoulder tackle and a back senton to Flair. Green smashes Flair into the ring post and throws her over the barricade into the timekeeper’s area. Piper crushes Alexa with a splash, Alba nails her with a Gory Bomb, and Piper finishes the assault with a Vader Bomb.
Tiffany Stratton and Jade Cargill argue in front of Nick Aldis, yelling back and forth. Nick stop them and says he respects what they’re trying to do, but reminds them there are proper channels to go through. Nia Jax steps in and tells Jade to fall back, saying she’s the one who’s going to step up against Tiffany. Tiffany smirks and tells Nia that the story may be different this time, but the result will be the same. She dares Nia to bring it.
Miz and Carmelo Hayes vs Nathan Frazer and Axiom
Carmelo Hayes and Axiom start the match, but The Miz quickly tags himself in. Miz notices Joe Gacy sitting in the crowd under a spotlight, which distracts him. Axiom grabs a wrist lock, Miz counters, but then Miz spots Dexter Lumis in another section, again with a spotlight. Back in the ring, Axiom and Miz lock up in a test of strength. Axiom bridges, flips Miz, and floats over. Miz returns the favor with a monkey flip of his own, and both men hold onto the wrist lock. Miz kicks Axiom and applies a double wrist lock, but Axiom escapes with a headscissors.
Hayes tags in, snap mares Axiom, and locks in a reverse chin lock. Hayes follows with a springboard clothesline for two, then goes back to the chin lock. He hits a superkick and tries for a powerbomb, but Axiom counters with a rana for a close near fall. Hayes answers with a sit-out powerbomb of his own for two. Axiom catches him with a leg lariat, leaving both men down. Frazer and Miz tag in. Frazer lights him up with chops, a flying forearm, and a sling blade. He nails a shooting star press for a near fall, then goes up top for the Phoenix Splash, but Miz dodges. Frazer rolls through, gets a victory roll for two, but Miz answers with a knee strike. Frazer fires back with a snap mare and kicks Hayes off the apron. Hayes tries a springboard, but Frazer counters with a Spanish Fly for another near fall.
Axiom tags in, but Hayes sends Frazer into him. Hayes lands a kick, but Axiom bounces back with one of his own on the turnbuckles. Frazer tags back in as Axiom hits a Spanish Fly, followed by Frazer landing the Phoenix Splash—only for Miz to break it up and drill Axiom with a tornado DDT. Frazer climbs up with Hayes for a superplex, but Hayes fights back and shoves him down. Frazer hits a kick, but Miz pulls Axiom to the apron and plants him with a DDT. Hayes counters the superplex into a mid-air cutter. He sets up for Nothin’ But Net, but Miz tags in, steals the glory, and plants Frazer with the Skull Crushing Finale for the three.
Winners: The Miz and Carmelo Hayes
Backstage, Tiffany Stratton is walking when Kiana James stops her. Kiana suggests Tiffany get some backup and pitches the idea of using Giulia, even saying she could upgrade with a custom pink title belt. She hands Tiffany her card, but Tiffany refuses, saying she doesn’t need backup. Kiana warns her that if she’s not with them, she’s against them. She reminds Tiffany that she’s never faced anyone like Giulia, and since Giulia already has a title, she doesn’t need another one. Michin walks up and tells Kiana that she’s got Giulia next.
Drew McIntyre Addresses His Attack on Cody Rhodes
Drew McIntyre’s music hits as he makes his way to the ring. Drew McIntyre stands in the ring, looks around, and says everyone’s been asking him the same thing: why did he Claymore Cody Rhodes’ head through the announce table? Drew insists they roll the footage again and tells the crowd to listen closely. He says what they saw isn’t the truth—he didn’t attack Cody Rhodes. Your eyes are lying to you, he claims, and promises to explain.
He asks Joe for a medical update on Cody since it’s been a week. Joe says there’s still no update. Drew suggests maybe management is hiding the truth because of how serious Cody’s condition really is. Drew explains that he doesn’t hate Cody—he pities him. Cody needs validation from the fans and from management. Drew says he knows exactly how that feels because he was Cody five years ago. But he evolved. He reminds everyone that when wrestlers retire, they’re quickly forgotten, so you have to take what’s yours while you can. Drew says he wants the title for himself, for his family, and for the big paycheck he’s been denied over and over. He says Cody needs that championship more than anyone, because without it—and without his “story”—who is Cody Rhodes? That’s why Cody acted the way he did last week.
Drew insists again he didn’t attack Cody. Cody attacked him. He recalls the match: after the AA, he broke up the cover. Cody knocked him to the floor. He was still down when the DQ happened. After the bell, Cody smashed his face into the ring post, then cleared off the announce table to put him through it. Drew says what happened was just self-defense. So why did he fight back? Because he told Cody he would be the one to take the title from him. Drew says Cody is great at pissing people off, but he’s great at taking people out. And if Cody—or anyone else—provokes him, they’ll find out he’s the true nightmare.
Backstage, Byron is with The Street Profits and B-Fab. He asks if a win tonight would put them in line for a tag team title shot. Solo Sikoa and his crew walk up. Solo tells them they’ve already had too many chances at the titles, and after his group is done with Jimmy, Jacob, and Sami, the Profits will have to deal with them next. Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford fire back, saying nothing will stop them from chasing their goals. They’re up, and they still want the smoke. Solo notices Talla staring off and asks if he’s alright.
Tag Team Match: DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa) vs. Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins)
Montez Ford and Tommaso Ciampa kick things off. Ciampa lands an elbow, but Ford answers with a dropkick. Ciampa boots him in the head and delivers a chop before tagging in Johnny Gargano. Ciampa hits a forearm, Gargano follows with knees, then Ciampa smashes Ford with a running knee in the corner. Gargano adds kicks, and Ciampa tags back in. Gargano misses a splash, Ford avoids Ciampa, and tags Dawkins.
Angelo runs hot with forearms and a corkscrew back elbow. He plants Gargano face-first, then splashes Ciampa and nails a roundhouse kick. Dawkins lines up for the POUNCE on the outside, but Candice LeRae blocks him. Ciampa takes advantage with a knee strike, and Gargano tags in with a thrust kick. Gargano wears down Dawkins with punches and chokes him in the ropes.
Ford strikes Gargano with an uppercut. As the referee checks on Gargano, Candice hits a headscissors on Ford off the apron into Dawkins. Gargano spikes Ford with a DDT for two. B-Fab rallies back, flooring Candice with a jumping knee. Dawkins drags Gargano outside, and Ford nearly steals it with a rollup. Ford lands a jumping knee, Dawkins connects with the Low Down, and Ford seals it with a frog splash for the three.
Winners: The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins)
After the break, a video package airs hyping up John Cena and Logan Paul, showcasing their rivalry.
Backstage, Byron Saxton is with R-Truth. Byron asks how he feels about John Cena hitting the Attitude Adjustment last week. Truth smiles and says he feels great—because their childhood hero is back. Aleister Black walks up and cuts him off, questioning why Truth isn’t just as excited about his other “friend,” Damian Priest. Black tells Truth that with friends like him, Priest doesn’t need enemies, and warns he’ll see Truth next week.
In the locker room, Sami Zayn, Jimmy Uso, and Jacob Fatu are talking. Sami says it’s been a while since he’s been in a tag team and thanks Jacob for having his back earlier. Sami is rolled back into the ring, where Solo cuts off his escape and drops him with a back elbow. Solo hammers Sami with punches and chokes him on the ropes.
Mateo tags back in and stomps Sami down before laying into him with more punches. Sami swings back and they trade shots, but Mateo regains control with heavy punches and floors Sami with a clothesline for a near fall.
Mateo follows with a moonsault, then tosses Sami into the corner. Loa tags back in and continues the punishment with strikes. He slams Sami down and hits a leg drop for two. Loa clamps on a reverse chin lock, grinding Sami down as the crowd rallies. Sami fights back with punches, but Loa drives him into the corner. Solo tags in, blasting Sami with punches and a headbutt. Sami throws shots of his own, but Solo mounts him and keeps hammering away. Mateo tags in after another headbutt from Solo, and he whips Sami hard into the corner. Mateo charges but misses the elbow, and Sami finally creates some space. Solo tags back in, knocks Jimmy Uso off the apron to cut off the tag, then chops Sami and places him on the top rope. Sami fights back and plants Solo with a tornado DDT.
Solo goes for the Samoan Spike, but Sami dodges and hits an exploder into the corner. Sami lines up, charges, and connects with the Helluva Kick for the three count.
