AEW star Rebel (Tanea Brooks) announced on social media that she has been diagnosed with lung cancer.
Brooks noted that her health issues began in May 2024, when she was hospitalized after doctors discovered a lung mass. Initially diagnosed with pneumonia, she underwent surgery to remove a tumor and spent months recovering away from AEW television. Later testing in 2025 revealed the correct diagnosis primary pulmonary lymphoma, a rare cancer affecting the lungs.
Rebel noted that she will be starting rehab for her disorder on Monday. She hopes to regain her function and be done with rehab in December so she can determine the next steps.
Rebel has not been seen on AEW TV since Britt Baker turned babyface in early 2023. On behalf of Prowrestlenew.com, our best wishes to Rebel in her recovery.
