During a recent appearance on the All the Smoke podcast, Rhodes spoke highly of Dirty Dom and named him as someone who is going to be the future of WWE. Dominik reacted to that praise while being interviewed on ESPN’s First Take today, comparing Rhodes to a big brother who has gone off to college.
“Man, I feel like I’m just getting started,” Dominik said about his place in WWE. “I started during the pandemic in 2020. Most of my — the first half of my career, I had no fans [in attendance]. Now leading into this, now we get crowd reactions. So, for me, I live off of that.
“Being able to, you know, like you said, future of the WWE and hearing Cody say that. Cody’s like that big brother that goes off to college and you don’t really see him every now and then, but you get excited when he comes back into town. You want that stamp of approval from him, you know? So it’s really cool to hear that from him. And it’s a blessing, man. I’m just fortunate to be able to do my thing.”
Mysterio is now scheduled to challenge John Cena for the WWE Intercontinental Championship at Survivor Series: WarGames on Saturday, November 29, at Petco Park in San Diego, California.
