Powerhouse Hobbs’ Reportedly Finishing Up With AEW After Contract Expires, Said to be headed to WWE

According to Fightful Select, Powerhouse Hobbs departed AEW, as his contract expired at midnight eastern. It was also said that unless something changes, the 35-year old Hobbs is headed for WWE.

At the AEW Collision taping on Wednesday night at the Arizona Financial Theatre in Phoenix, JetSpeed and Hangman Adam Page defeated The Opps ( Samoa Joe, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Katsuyori Shibata) to become the new World Trios Champions. 

Fightful Select also notes Hobbs wanted to test the free agency market and is leaving AEW on good terms. Hobbs first debuted for AEW in back in July of 2020. In addition to being a World Trios Champion holder, he also had a short run wit the AEW TNT title in 2023.

If Hobbs joins WWE, he would join a list of former AEW talent who have made the jump, including Cody Rhodes, Jade Cargill, Shawn Spears, and Ethan Page.
