Here are the results for August 9 episode of AEW Collision.
AEW TNT Championship Match: Don Callis Family’s “The Protostar” Kyle Fletcher (c) vs. The Conglomeration’s “The Stone Pitbull” Tomohiro Ishii
The match starts off with Ishii going on the attack early on, which leads to both men trading forearm strikes. Things then slow down for just a moment before both men go right back at it. Fletcher then hits the ropes, but is dropped to the mat with a shoulder tackle from Ishii. Fletcher then tries to get back into it, but is sent to the ropes by Ishii and Fletcher takes a breather on the outside. Fletcher then delivers some chops on Ishii and Ishii responds by sending Fletcher crashing into the corner. Ishii then sends Fletcher to another corner for more chops and he continues to wear Fletcher down until Fletcher turns it around to send Ishii to the mat with a hard kick.
Fletcher then continues his attack and Ishii, but takes a couple of kicks from Ishii before taking him down with a scoop slam. Fletcher then sets up for a chinlock, but Ishii fights to his feet before dropping Fletcher with a Saito suplex. Ishii then hits the ropes, only to be taken to the mat with a powerslam. Both men then duke it out and look for a vertical suplex and it’s Ishii who gets the upper hand with the suplex. Ishii then back on his feet as Fletcher goes to the ropes, only to be taken down hard with a shoulder tackle from Ishii. Ishii then sends Fletcher to the corner to set him up on the top turnbuckle.
Fletcher then starts to fight back before taking a headbutt from Ishii. Ishii then hits a superplex and gets a near fall. Fletcher then catches Ishii on the ropes to force him to the floor. Fletcher then hits Ishii on the apron with a sheer drop brainbuster. Fletcher then sends Ishii back into the ring and hits him with a Froggy Bow. Fletcher then goes for the cover, but Ishii kicks out. Both men then get back to their feet and go at it. Both men then trade strikes before Fletcher takes Ishii down with a knee strike. Fletcher then sends Ishii to the corner. but is hit with a powerbomb by Ishii. Ishii then hits the ropes for a big lariat and goes for the cover, but Fletcher kicks out at two.
Fletcher then hits a running knee and Ishii responds with headbutts. Ishii then goes for a cover, but Fletcher kicks out at 2. Ishii then misses a sliding lariat and Fletcher hits a powerbomb. Fletcher then goes for the cover, but Ishii kicks out at two. Fletcher then hits a running kick in the corner and Ishii responds with a lariat. Fletcher then hits the sheer drop brainbuster for the win.

After the match, Fletcher grabs the mic and says this is the first defense in what will go down as the greatest title reign in history. Fletcher then says first Adam Cole, then Dustin Rhodes and now Tomohiro Ishii, but what’s next for the ProtoStar. Fletcher then says that is where he starts thinking about Forbidden Door. Fletcher then says being in there with Ishii, he gets thinking about his New Japan days. Fletcher then says he wants NJPW to send their pound for pound best to face him for the TNT Championship. Fletcher then says whoever it is doesn’t matter as the result will be the same and he will be holding the title aloft and fans will be forced to say his full name.
We then head to the back, where Don Callis says he is so happy that Fletcher beat Ishii and he is embarking on his quest to fulfill the destiny of Fletcher. Callis then says he has a big role to play in the success of NJPW. Callis then says he wants to send a message to NJPW management. Callis then says he wants them to send their best to face Fletcher and once he’s done embarrassing them, he will use his New Japan tie to choke them out. Callis then says whoever they send will be on the ash heap.
It is then announced for next week on Collision that four men will go at it for a shot at Zack Sabre Jr. and the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at Forbidden Door and those for men are Hechicero, Nigel McGuinness, Lee Moriarty and Daniel Garcia.
Emily Rose vs. “The Megasus” Megan Bayne
Rose gets taken down with a spear before Megan sends her to the corner for a splash and a butterfly suplex. Bayne on the most dangerous rope to get the drop on Emily, who fights back from the corner to climb up herself. This doesn’t last long as Bayne drops her with the running Liger Bomb for the win.

We then head to the back, where big Bill and Bryan Keith address Juice Robinson after they were eliminated from the Tag Title Eliminator Tournament. Bill promises that Juice has exactly what he deserves coming to.
Singles Match: Bang Bang Gang’s Juice Robinson vs. Ricochet
The match starts off with Ricochet leaving the ring. He then gets back in the ring, only to be sent to the corner by Robinson. Ricochet then fights back and breaks free from a waist lock by Robinson to leave the ring and take out the Colten cutout. This then gets some boos as Ricochet gets back in the ring, where he and Robinson trade some more strikes. This then leads to Ricochet getting hit on the head by Robinson. Robinson then takes Ricochet down for a two count. Robinson then sends Ricochet back to the corner for a headbutt, laying in some more damage as we see Toa Liona appear on the stage. Austin Gunn then goes to deal with him as Bishop Kaun goes after Robinson, allowing Ricochet to get the upper hand.
Robinson is struggling to break free from Ricochet’s grip before finally getting to his feet. He then hits Ricochet off the ropes with a spinebuster and gets a near fall. Ricochet is back up, but takes a series of jabs from Robinson before getting laid out with the left hand. Ricochet is slow to get back up, taking a leg lariat that gets Robinson a two count. Ricochet then manages to fight back, sending Robinson to the corner for a DDT but Robinson kicks out at two after a pin attempt.
Ricochet then gets to his feet and hits the ropes, only to run into a big lariat from Robinson for another near fall. Ricochet then escapes to the ropes, catching Robinson on the jaw to set up for a springboard elbow. Robinson then hits a standing moonsault and a shooting star and goes for the cover, but Robinson kicks out. Ricochet then heads back to the corner, looking for a Spirit Gun, but Robinson ducks. Robinson then hits a flatliner and goes for a roll up and gets a two count. GOA then get involved once more, this time allowing Big Bill to sneak into the ring for a big boot on Robinson that leads to the win for Ricochet.

After the match, Ricochet celebrates with GOA as commentary takes a look at the “By The Numbers” of Athena ahead of the AEW Women’s World Championship at Forbidden Door.
We then take a look at last week’s Best Wrestler Alive challenge and Max Caster surviving five minutes with RUSH before LFI attacks him, only to be interrupted by AR Fox and JetSpeed. We then head to the back, where Caster says thanks but no thanks for the help before looking to warm up for this week’s challenge.
Trios Match: FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax “The Axe” Harwood) and Stokely vs. Ryan Zukko, Joe Keys and Josh Fuller
The match starts off with Joe Keys and Cash Wheeler and Wheeler gets the upper hand early on before tagging in Dax while telling Stoke it’s not easy. Zukko then tags in, but is taken to his limit by Harwood before tagging in Fuller. Fuller then suffers a similar fate before Stokely is tagged in for some cheap shots on Josh. Cash then tags back in as FTR go to work on Fuller, who sends them away to make the tag to Zukko. He then ends up taking a Shatter Machine before Stokely gets a tag for a spike piledriver that gets him the win.

After the match, FTR and Stokely celebrate as we cut to a video package looking at the issues between Darby Allin and Jon Moxley, leading to both men potentially facing off at Forbidden Door.
We then head back at ringside, where Daniel Garcia joins commentary for the next match of the night as Hechicero and AR Fox make their way down to the ring.
Singles Match: Don Callis Family’s Hechicero vs. AR Fox
The match starts off with both men trading offense until Fox manages to get the upper hand, sending Hechicero to the outside for a dive on the floor. He then sends Hechicero back in the ring and goes up top for a swanton bomb, but gets hit right onto the knees of Hechicero. Hechicero then blocks a DDT from Fox and spins him around for a modified backbreaker before sending him into the corner for a splash.
Fox is then sent to the corner by Hechicero, only to dodge a flying attack. Hechicero then hits Fox with a tornado DDT. Both men then trade strikes in the middle of the ring until Fox hits an enziguiri on Hechicero. Hechicero then heads to the corner, only to take a diving elbow by Fox and Fox sends Hechicero to the mat. Fox then goes up top for a swanton on Hechicero and he hits it, but Hechicero kicks out at two. Fox then sets up for a 450 splash off the turnbuckle, but Hechicero rolls out of the way and locks in a unique submission hold to force Fox to tap out.

After the match, we see STP alongside Lee Moriarty watching on from backstage, with Daniel Garcia and Nigel McGuinness making note of things from ringside ahead of their technical spectacle next week.
We then get a video package focusing on Max Caster and Anthony Bowens and what the former Acclaimed have been up to since their split. We have seen issues brewing between Bowens and Billy Gunn and the frustration is clear from Bowens.
We then get a vignette hinting at the return of Harley Cameron.
Trios Match: Queen Aminata, TayJay’s Tay Melo and The Conglomeration’s Willow Nightingale vs. Triangle of Madness (“The Toxic Spider” Thekla, Julia Hart and Skye Blue)
The match starts off with Thekla and Queen Aminata going at it, with Aminata hitting a snapmare and the chocolate kisses before it gets broken up. Thekla then gets an opening to strike, sending Aminata to the mat for a near fall. Melo and Hart then tag in and go at it until Melo takes Hart to the canvas and to the corner for a tag Willow Nightingale in. Nightingale then takes Hart to the corner for a series of punches before Thekla intervenes.
Nightingale then sends Thekla away before going back after Hart, who fights her off long enough to make the tag to Skye Blue. Nightingale then immediately goes back on the offense, setting up a camel clutch while Melo and Aminata keep the rest of the Triangle of Madness out of the ring before joining the match. Nightingale then misses a tag to Aminata and chaos ensues between all six women. Nightingale and Thekla are still in the ring and Thekla is hit with a lariat. Both women then tag out to Aminata and Blue.
Aminata then takes Blue to the corner before hitting her with a swinging neckbreaker, but Thekla breaks the pin attempt. Melo then tags in and sends Blue to the corner before hitting a hammerlock DDT for a cover. Thekla then stops the cover and gets hit with a pounce by Nightingale. Nightingale is then sent to the outside before Melo rolls up Blue. A Gory Special is then blocked and Blue and Hart hit an assisted DDT for the win.

After the match, the Triangle of Madness celebrate.
We then get a message from Sky Flight to Don Callis to keep shooting and we hear from FTR and Stokely ahead of their respective matches on Dynamite.
We then head back to ringside, where Max Caster congratulates RUSH before setting up for this week’s Best Wrestler Alive challenge and Katsuyori Shibata makes his way down to the ring to answer the call.
“Platinum” Max Caster’s Best Wrestler Alive 5-Minute Challenge: “Platinum” Max Caster vs. The Opps’ AEW World Trios Champion “The Wrestler” Katsuyori Shibata
The match starts off with Shibata getting the upper hand early and really laying in the damage on Caster as the onscreen clock continues to count down. We then get a near fall before Caster tries to get back into it, only to get sent down to the mat with a PK by Shibata for the win.

After the match, Shibata offers a handshake to Caster, raising his hand before LFI rush down the ring to beat them down. JetSpeed then comes running down for the save and there is chaos at ringside. AEW World Champion “Hangman” Adam Page then makes his way down to the ring for the main event of the night.
Trios Match: AEW World Champion “Hangman” Adam Page and JetSpeed (“The Jet” Kevin Knight and “Speedball” Mike Bailey”) vs. La Facción Ingobernable (“El Toro Blanco” RUSH, The Beast Mortos and Dralistico)
The match starts off with The Beast Mortos and Hangman Page and both men trade some offense. Mortos then hits a leapfrog and gets hit with a boot to the face by Hangman. RUSH then tags in and both men stare each other down before trading strikes. RUSH then has Hangman against the ropes and distracts the referee enough for LFI to try and get some shots of their own in. This then leads to chaos in and out of the ring with things clearing out to bring us back to RUSH and Hangman. RUSH then ends up on the outside and Hangman takes him to the floor with a moonsault off the top turnbuckle.
Hangman then sends RUSH back in the ring and sets him up for a chop. Hangman then sends RUSH to the ropes. RUSH then fights back with some boots on Hangman before tagging in Dralistico. Dralistico then lays in some strikes on Hangman, but Hangman takes him down hard before tagging in Kevin Knight, who in turn tags in Mike Bailey. JetSpeed then work together on taking out Dralistico before Bailey gets a two count. Speedball is then brought to the LFI corner where they triple team on him and they hit him with a triple dropkick for a near fall.
Mortos is then tagged in and he lays it into Speedball to keep him away from the corner, but Knight manages to get the tag just as Dralistico comes in as well. Knight then manages to keep him at bay and sends Dralistico to the outside for a dive. Hangman then gets the tag and he goes after RUSH, but Mortos and Dralistico try to intervene before Hangman sends them away for a dive. This then gives RUSH an opening for a moment, but Hangman hits him with a Death Valley Driver for a two count. Hangman then goes for a discus lariat, but RUSH counters with a suplex into a corner of the ring. RUSH then set up for the Bull’s Horns. Knight then cuts him off with a springboard dropkick.
LFI then gets the better of Hangman for a bit. Hangman then eventually catches Dralistico going for a top rope move and powerbombs him on the way down. Hangman then pulls himself over the ropes and set up for his finisher. Hangman then has to fight off Mortos and RUSH and Dralistico hits him with a kick. Knight and Bailey then hit a drop dropkick on Dralistico and hit dives onto RUSH and Mortos on the floor. Hangman then hits Dralistico with the Buckshot Lariat for the win.
After the match commentary hypes up Dynamite on Wednesday and the 4-Way Match for next week’s Collision and the show comes to a close.
