AJ Lee Might be On Her way back to WWE.
The main event of WWE Clash In Paris saw Seth Rollins defend his World Heavyweight Championship against CM Punk, Jey Uso, and LA Knight in a Fatal Four-Way match. The finish of the match occurred when Becky Lynch, who was not involved in the bout, came to the ring and delivered a low blow to CM Punk.
Sean Ross Sapp reported on Fightful Select that the end of WWE Clash in Paris supported rumors that have circulated within WWE for several months.
Pitches about a potential return for Lee have been shut down in the past. However, these weren’t met with the same reaction that there had been in the past.
While a return is far from confirmed, it appears a potential AJ Lee WWE return is closer than it has been in a decade. One WWE higher-up recently told Fightful that if Lee were to return, they aren’t concerned about the time she’s been away from the ring.
AJ Lee previously made it clear during her time with WOW Women of Wrestling that she wasn’t interested in competing again, She was the company’s executive producer for a while. Wrestlers in both AEW and WWE have asked CM Punk about her joining their locker rooms, but she obviously declined up to this point.
Following Clash In Paris, former WWE Champion Big E teased the possibility of AJ Lee (April Mendez) making her highly anticipated return to the company.
Lee has not wrestled since her WWE departure in 2015.
