Chelsea Green was most recently seen on the February 6 episode of WWE SmackDown. The former Women’s United States Champion competed competed in a triple threat qualifier for the Women’s Elimination Chamber against Tiffany Stratton and Lash Legend. The finish of the match saw Stratton hit Green with the Prettiest Moonsault Ever to advance to the Women’s Elimination Chamber match.
However, Concern grew quickly over how things unfolded for Chelsea Green during the match. Reports surfaced over the weekend suggested that Chelsea Green came out of the match injured. According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, the injury prompted WWE to pull the former Women’s United States Champion from Saturday’s AAA TV tapings. Green seemingly confirmed the reports during her FaceTime call with Ethan Page. Green was seen wearing a walking boot for mobility.
“In asking around this morning, the belief within WWE is that Green suffered a bad sprain but did not break her foot or ankle. There is no word on how long she will be out of action,” the report further noted.
In Green’s absence, Ethan Page was forced to defend the AAA World Mixed Team Championship alongside La Hiedra against Lola Vice and Mr. Iguana at Saturday’s AAA tapings.
Fightful Select also report that WWE hopes Green’s injury isn’t too bad. She’ll have a follow-up exam today to assess her injury. She could miss “a couple of weeks” but WWE hopes the follow-up confirms that’s the extent of her absence.
