CM Punk Says He’s Not Retiring Anytime Soon After John Cena Final Match

CM Punk has provided an update on his own WWE retirement after John Cena had his final match tonight at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

As noted, John Cena lost his last match via submission to Gunther in the main event of Saturday Night’s Main Event tonight in Washington, D.C. Gunther secured the victory with a sleeper hold, forcing Cena to tap out.

During the Saturday Night’s Main Event Post-Show, CM Punk was asked by Big E about his own retirement plans. Big E stated that Punk had previously mentioned his own career being near the end rather than the beginning, and asked if he wanted a similar event like Cena’s finish.

“When I make allusions to the end of whatever my career is going to look like, it’s not because I feel like I’m there,” Punk added. “It’s because I look back at the entirety of my career and there is a lot more road behind me than there is in front of me.”

“Trust me, I am the champion for a reason, and I’m here to stay, and nobody’s going to change that. I’m not going anywhere anytime soon.”
