Dominik Mysterio Retains Intercontinental Championship On WWE RAW

Dominik Mysterio put his WWE Intercontinental Championship on-the-line against Penta on the October 13th, episode of WWE Raw.

Before this match went down, Rusev approached Penta backstage. He told Penta that the only reason this match is going down is that Adam Pearce approved it with Rusev. That being said, The Bulgarian Brute made it clear that he is next in line for an Intercontinental Title shot.

Dom vs Penta match starts off with both men trading chops and Dominik leaves the ring for a breather, but Penta doesn’t give him that. Penta then leaves the ring before sending Dominik onto the announce desk with a back body drop. Dominik then scrambles to get away from Penta. Penta then continues the attack on Dominik with a flurry of offense in the corner and he hits a springboard cross body for a two count.

Dominik then manages to turn things around when both men slowly get to their feet and he sends Penta to the outside before diving through the ropes for a DDT that sends Penta crashing onto the floor. “Dirty, dirty Dom” chants then continue as Dominik goes out to continue the attack and he mocks the crowd as he sends Penta into the barricade.

Dominik then goes for a 619, but Penta dodges it and he hits a kick and a diving cross body. Penta then hits a Penta Driver and goes for a cover, but Dominik kicks out.

Penta then looks for a Mexican Destroyer, but Dominik catches him by surprise for a near fall instead. He then goes up top but leaps into a thrust kick by Penta, who gets a two count. Dominik rolls to the outside as Rusev comes down the ramp, only to take a dive by Penta.

Dominik then starts to grab his titles along with a ring bell hammer, distracting the referee with a title in order to sneak the hammer into his boot for an “assisted” 619 for the win.
