In the opening match of AEW WrestleDream Jamie Hayter defeated Thekla in a grudge match.
The match starts off with Hayter hitting Thekla with a boot. She then delivers some right hands on her and hits several chops on her chest before the action spills out of the ring and Hayter sends Thekla crashing into two of the barricades. She then sends her crashing into the ring steps face first, then delivers some chops on her chest and sends her back in the ring.
They went back and forth before Thekla locked her into a head and arm submission, but Jamie got out of it with a back breaker. Thekla went right back to a submission, but Hayter got to the bottom rope. The referee stopped Thekla from taking off her belt. Hayter put her away with her finisher.
After the match, Queen Aminata celebrated with Hayter while Julia Hart & Skye Blue looked on from the ramp.
