John Cena vs. AJ Styles took place at the WWE Crown Jewel Premium Live Event.
The match starts off with both men locking up and AJ cinches in a side head lock. AJ then holds on to the ropes and Cena misses an arm drag. Cena then cinches in a side head lock. AJ then hits an arm drag and a drop kick. Both men then lock up and AJ backs Cena into the corner. AJ then gives a clean break. Both men then lock up and Cena backs AJ into the corner. Cena then gives a clean break. Both men then go for a Greco Roman Knuckle Lock and Cena gets AJ up, but AJ gets to his feet and hits a forearm and a flying clothesline into the corner.
Cena then hits a flying shoulder tackle and follows it up with a second one. AJ then kicks Cena and he follows it up with a series of strikes. AJ then misses a clothesline and Cena hits a Blue Thunder Bomb. AJ then hits a kick to stop the Five Knuckle Shuffle. AJ then misses a splash into the corner and Cena hits another Blue Thunder Bomb. Cena then hits the Five Knuckle Shuffle. Cena then gets AJ up for the Attitude Adjustment and hits it for a near fall.
Cena then gets AJ up again for an Attitude Adjustment, but AJ escapes and hits an ushigoroshi but AJ appears to have hurt his knee. Cena then hits a Skull Crushing Finale for a near fall.
AJ then cinches in a Calf Crusher. Cena then escapes and goes for an STF and locks it in. Cena then pulls AJ into the center of the ring. AJ then hits a kick and a Styles Clash for a near fall.
AJ then goes to the apron for the Phenomenal Forearm. Cena then catches AJ and hits him with the Sister Abigail for a near fall. Cena then waits for AJ and AJ escapes an Attitude Adjustment. AJ then hits the Angel’s Wings for a near fall.
Cena then sends AJ to the apron and hits a hanging DDT. Cena then punches the mat and hits an RKO for a near fall. Cena then sets up for the running kick, but he misses. AJ then hits a Death Valley Driver for a near fall. AJ then looks around and he sets up for the Five Knuckle Shuffle, but Cena pops up and grabs AJ by the throat and hits a choke slam for a near fall.
The crowd then chants for a 619 so Cena hits a drop toe hold. AJ then stops the 619 with a clothesline. AJ then hits a kick and he goes to the apron. AJ then sets up for a springboard 450 and hits it.
AJ then sets up for a Sweet Chin Music and he hits it for a near fall. AJ then hits a Phenomenal Forearm for a near fall. Cena then gets AJ up on his shoulders and AJ hits some elbows to escape.
Cena then hits an Attitude Adjustment for a near fall. Cena then puts AJ on the turnbuckles for a Super Attitude Adjustment, but AJ hits some elbows. AJ then sends Cena to the mat. AJ then hits a cross body and Cena rolls through and gets AJ up for a Tombstone. Cena then hits an Attitude Adjustment for the win.
