At AEW WrestleDream Kris Statlander defeated ‘Timeless’ Toni Storm to retain the AEW Women’s World Championship, Mercedes Moné showed up during Statlander’s celebration,demanded Kris Statlander to exit the ring.
Later on in the show, Mercedes Mone issue an open challenge for her TBS Championship. The match was promoted with the stipulation that another reigning champion would answer the challenge, with both titles on the line. Answering the call was Mina Shirakawa, the Interim ROH Women’s World Television Champion.
In the end, Mone pulled out a roll-up pin and used the ropes for leverage to secure the victory.
Following the match, AEW Women’s World Champion Kris Statlander made her return and confronted Mone in the ring. When Mone took a swing, Statlander ducked and dropped her.
Right before the main event between Darby Allin and Jon Moxley in an “I Quit” match, Moné issued a challenge to Statlander for an AEW Women’s World Title match at the Full Gear pay-per-view on November 22nd.
