Paul Heyman opened The September 26, edition of WWE SmackDown, He does his usual introduction and says there’s a lot to cover, but only two hours to do it. He jokes that he won’t take up the full two hours. He then asks the crowd in Orlando, “What do you want to talk about?
Paul Heyman asks the crowd if they want to talk about the conspiracy theories and rumors surrounding Brock Lesnar? Cody Rhodes music hits he heads to the ring.
Cody Rhodes starts off by asking the crowd if they watched the recap. He then says he made a mistake last week—he shouldn’t have called Paul Heyman a goon. In fact, he doesn’t think Paul is a goon at all. He calls Heyman one of the smartest men he’s ever known, but accuses him of always stirring things up. Then, Cody brings up the name that’s been looming—Brock Lesnar.
Cody says he can’t just make accusations without backing them up, so he asks production to roll footage of Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar at Wrestlepalooza.
After the video, Cody questions if it really was just a “one night thing.” He asks Paul directly: who is he talking to right now—the Oracle, the Wise Man, or the Advocate?
Heyman fires back, saying Cody is speaking to the GOAT. As the Greatest of All Time, Paul says he respects Cody for confronting him about Brock. He adds that everyone knows when Brock is around, no one is safe.
Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed interrupt The Segment and head to the ring. Paul says Brock isn’t here—but questions why Cody thinks that means he’s safe. Bron and Bronson step into the ring, closing in on Cody.
Bron takes off his shirt. Bronson steps in closer. Cody calmly takes off his jacket and hands his watch to Booker T at ringside. Cody says it might not be the smartest decision but it looks like they want a fight. Cody strikes first, throwing punches at both Bron and Bronson. He dodges, causing Bronson to accidentally hit Bron with a splash. Cody goes for CrossRhodes on Bron, but a flying clothesline stops him. Randy Orton made the save.
