Report: Former AEW Stars May Be Headed To WWE

According to Fightful Select Vinny and Dutch, better known as The Righteous, have informed some promoters that they are wrapping up their indie bookings over the next few months. Rumors out of WWE suggest that the company has had its eye on the duo, and many insiders believe a signing is likely.

This is not the first time WWE has shown interest in the duo. In December 2022, The Righteous participated in an indie wrestler-only tryout for the company. However, any potential hires were put on hold around that time due to a company-wide hiring freeze that occurred when Vince McMahon returned to WWE, a move that ultimately led to the company’s acquisition by Endeavor. The hiring freeze affected WWE’s interest in talent across the board, and no new wrestlers were brought in for several months.

The Righteous later signed with AEW/ROH before securing their release earlier this year. Other talent have also advocated for the team. Another supporter mentioned was Elijah (formerly Elias), who reportedly filmed vignettes with The Righteous for a pitch that never made it to WWE television.
