In the opening Match , The Opps (Samoa Joe, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Katsuyori Shibata) successfully defended their AEW Trios Championships against The Death Riders (Gabe Kidd, Claudio Castagnoli, and Wheeler Yuta)
After the match, The Death Riders and Kidd attack The Opps. Yuta then introduces a chair, which Castagnoli wraps around Samoa Joe’s neck. Castagnoli then stomps on Joe’s neck. The medical staff then put Joe on a backboard and stretcher him out of the arena.
